Monday, Sept. 11 is the deadline to register for the Fall Conference of the University of Arkansas communication disorders program. The conference is set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 in the Verizon Ballroom in the Arkansas Union.

Cost and agenda are available online, and registration may be done online. Information is also available by calling 479-575-4893.

Practitioners can receive four professional development hours for attending. A light breakfast, snack and lunch will be provided.

Speakers will be Lisa Bowers, an assistant professor in the program that is based in the College of Education and Health Professions, and Amy Faith, the lead speech-language pathologist for Rogers Public Schools. Bowers will present “Improving Written Literacy Outcomes of Bilingual Children – Role of the SLP.” Faith will present “Providing Appropriate Assessment for Bilingual Children – An Overview.”
