The College of Education and Health Professions saluted new graduates Saturday in the fourth commencement of the coronavirus pandemic. University of Arkansas students and their guests wore face coverings Dec. 18, with the ceremony repeated morning and afternoon to offset crowded situations in Bud Walton Arena.

Graduates of the College of Education and Health Professions “walked” for the first ceremony, in the morning. Besides COEHP, other colleges participating in the first ceremony were the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, and interdisciplinary program students.

The program was recorded on video. Scenes of campus life start the tape, with the ceremonies beginning just after 28:00.

About 2,000 degrees were awarded overall, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported. Interim Chancellor Charles Robinson, U of A System President Donald Bobbitt, other administrators and college deans spoke before the conferring of degrees.

The U of A choral ensemble Schola Cantorum performed the National Anthem, via a recorded video, to begin the program.

The second program, Saturday afternoon, comprised graduates of the U of A School of Law, Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences, College of Engineering, and Walton College of Business.
