Happy New Year, and welcome to the first Leading with Care newsletter of 2024. We’re grateful for a momentous 2023 and are looking forward to another lively year ahead!

We’re excited to host several events, including the bi-annual Dean’s Executive Advisory Board meeting and our Outstanding Alumni Awards reception, where we’ll celebrate exceptional alumni who are making a significant impact in their professional fields and communities.

We will also continue with several of our traditions that were first launched in 2023. On January 23, we will welcome our second WE CARE speaker, Dr. Bonnie L. Halpern-Felsher from Stanford University School of Medicine, a renowned developmental psychologist whose research focuses on adolescent health. Our Eleanor Mann School of Nursing will host its second Nursing Science Day on March 7, featuring prominent author and speaker Dr. Temple Grandin.

We’re also gearing up for our second-ever WE CARE-A-VAN tour, happening in March. The tour’s name is a play on words based on the college’s WE CARE strategic plan. The college plans to visit schools, clinics, partner institutions, alumni, and other stakeholders several times a year.

Of course, we’ll continue to forge ahead with our three strategic plan priorities in all we do throughout the year. We’re committed to caring for communities in Arkansas and beyond by advancing impactful research, engaging in meaningful partnerships, and empowering caring professionals in education and health.

Wishing you a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2024!
