The Human Resource Development program will host the Connect ’24 Summit on Saturday, March 9.
Registration for the free student-led event is open through March 1. It will be held both virtually and in person at the Graduate Education building on campus with free parking. The one-day summit is funded by a College of Education and Health Professions WE CARE grant and Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield.
“The Human Resource Development summit will be an incredible opportunity to connect with other students and interact with professionals who will help further develop student’s careers in HRD,” said Alana Coffee, a master’s student in the program.
Alumni and students will discuss current trends in the human resource development field and hear from various speakers, including a keynote from Mandy McDonald-Brashear, vice president of Global People at Walmart. Other summit activities include break-out sessions on cutting-edge instructional learning content, AI integration workshops and doctoral student poster sessions.
A live stream will be available for those unable to attend in person. The HDR summit website lists transportation options, local restaurants and popular NWA attractions.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and evening hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
Ashley Ingram, a doctoral student in human resource development and co-chair of the event, said she’s grateful for the student planners and volunteers, faculty sponsors, speakers and summit sponsors. “This event would not be possible without their support and collaboration, as well as the support from the co-chairs from the inaugural event last year,” she said. “I am looking forward to a day of connecting students and practitioners with each other and with relevant learning experiences for our ever-evolving field.”
