Welcome to the August edition of our newsletter! I hope your summer has been restful and fun so far. Hopefully, you’ve been seeing all the WE CARE Everywhere photos on social media. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends of the college have shared our message of care during summer camps, study abroad trips, conferences, and family getaways. I also couldn’t resist snapping photos with the WE CARE banner while I was out and about this summer. The photo above was taken in Kazbegi, in the country of Georgia.
The new semester will start in a few weeks, and I can’t wait. Our fall kickoff meeting will be especially exciting this year as we welcome Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan, who will proclaim the first day of classes —August 19th — “WE CARE Day” in Fayetteville. The official proclamation encourages others to follow in the college’s footsteps and show extraordinary care for those around them. WE CARE Day will roll into WE CARE Week when we’ll invite our college community, alumni, and friends to show care, share our message, and support our mission.
We’re excited to recognize the college’s dedication to fostering a caring culture that empowers all students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to thrive, advancing impactful research that generates knowledge and promotes innovative solutions in education and health, and expanding service to Arkansas through transformative educational experiences and meaningful partnerships.
I also look forward to introducing our impressive new staff and faculty, including two department heads, at the kickoff meeting. It’s going to be a fantastic school year.
We’d love for you to follow us on social media to keep up with the college in real time. Find us on Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
With care,
Dean Kate Mamiseishvili
