The 2024 issue of Leading with Care, the College of Education and Health Professions’ annual year-in-review magazine, published this month.
It’s the fifth edition of the print and digital magazine. This year’s theme revolves around the college’s WE CARE Everywhere campaign, which went global over the summer. The front and back covers — as well as the center feature story — include photos of students, faculty, staff, alumni and other friends of the college posing with WE CARE banners. They carried the WE CARE message on family vacations, while studying abroad, at conferences and on various other adventures.
The banners made appearances at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, the Rocky Mountains, Half Dome and Ithaca Falls, as well as in Germany, France, Ireland and Sweden.
Leading with Care highlights many of the events, people and programs that made the year so successful. The magazine also includes fun features like “Dean Kate Gets Coached,” a two-page spread about the social media video series in which Dean Kate Mamiseishvili interviews U of A coaches. The videos delve into their coaching insights, which helped inform the dean’s leadership approach for the year.
The magazine also shares about new programs in the college, like the Alumni Mentoring Program (AMP), remarkable faculty accolades, impactful research shaping education and health, and new partnerships strengthening the state.
Readers are also invited along for the spring and fall WE CARE-A-VAN tours, which took the college to the southwest and southeast corners of Arkansas.
Leading with Care features many of the college’s signature events, including bi-annual Dean’s Executive Advisory Board meetings, the Outstanding Alumni Awards reception, the Benefactors and Scholarship Recipients luncheon, speaker series discussions and Dean’s Seminars, which are open to students from any major.
“This is our largest magazine to date, and it documents so many inspirational stories about our caring faculty, staff, students and alumni,” Mamiseishvili said. “Their work is pivotal to our goal of advancing impactful research, expanding service to Arkansas and fostering a caring culture. We are excited to continue and expand this phenomenal work in the new year.”
The magazine publishes every December, but the college regularly updates its Leading with Care website with news from six different departments. The college also stays connected with friends and alumni through its Leading with Care newsletter, which shares top news every month.
