The U of A Master of Athletic Training Program will host the 19th annual Razorback Sports Medicine Symposium on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Hillside Auditorium.

This didactic and interactive symposium’s theme is “An Interprofessional Approach to Sport-Related Hip Injury Management and Rehabilitation” and will focus on rehabilitation interventions for sport-related hip injuries from leading experts in the field.

This interprofessional symposium welcome collaborative efforts to improve health-related quality of life outcomes in physically active persons and is commonly attended by athletic trainers, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Topics include:

  • Differential Diagnosis of the Hip in Athletes and the Physically Active
  • How Load Management Can Help with Recovery and Injury Prevention
  • Surgical Versus Non-Surgical Approaches for the Athlete with Complex Hip Pain: What Does the Evidence Support?
  • Rehabilitation Strategies for the Complex Hip Problems in Athletes
  • Global Perspectives: Maximizing Movement to Prevent Lumbopelvic Hip Pain in Athletes
  • Bridging the Gap between Rehabilitation and Sport Performance

7.0 Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer Inc. (BOC) continuing education units and Arkansas Physical Therapy Association (APTA Arkansas) are provided.
