Happy 2026, friends!

Last year was all about going “the whole hog” — as advised by Roald Dahl’s Matilda — and we embraced that sentiment with gusto. We didn’t do anything by half. We were outrageous and relentless in our mission to serve communities in Arkansas and beyond by advancing impactful research, engaging in meaningful partnerships, and empowering our students to thrive.

For the New Year, I’m again drawing on the wisdom of a children’s book. I love this line from Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae: “We all can dance, when we find music that we love.”

Here’s to each of us finding the right kind of music in 2026, both in our personal and professional lives. May we all embrace the joy and uniqueness of our own kind of dance.

This is going to be the best year yet. Let’s dance our way through 2026 together!

With care,
